Supporter Q&A – Paul Duffy

by Addis Army Cricket

Q: What was your first overseas Test match?
A: Perth at the WACA 2017

Q: What is your most memorable overseas Test match you’ve seen?
A: Has to be England’s win at Newlands in January 2020.

Q: Who is your favourite current England player?
A: Trying hard to think about anyone other than Ben Stokes. I’d have to say I’m very excited about Ollie Pope. He turned the game at Cape Town for me.

Q: Who is your favourite England player of all time?
A: Has to be Beefy. As a swing bowler who liked a bat I pretty much modelled myself on him.

Q: Who is your favourite opposition player of all time?
A: There’s 2 I’m afraid…and I’ve met them both on tour with England. Sir Viv and Michael Holding.

Q: What is your favourite overseas Test ground and why?
A: Has to be Newlands…the backdrop, the brewery, the grass banks and the 10,000 England fans.

Q: Which country is your favourite to tour and why?
A: South Africa – so much to do and see!

Q: Of all the cities/towns you visited on town, which is your favourite and why?
A: Cape Town – see above (& below!)

Q: What is your most memorable non cricket moment on tour?
A: Became addicted to wine tasting tours in the Western Cape. Still have the bottles we’ve brought back waiting to enjoy this summer.

Q: What do you enjoy most about touring?
A: Meeting other fans and making friends with the locals. So many people to go back and see when England are touring.
