RC - Joe is the Root Cause of Pakistan's Defeat

Joe Root's 61 and 89 have guided England past two modest Pakistan totals in the first 2 ODIs. After top scoring in the Test series, including 254 at Old Trafford, the 25 year old from Sheffield is surely cementing his place at the best batsmen in the world. Classical in Tests and and an aggressive strokemaker in ODIs. Pakistan will need to dismiss him early to have any chance in the rest of the series.

England have been chasing modest totals as the Pakistan simply don't have many batsmen who can score quicker than a run a ball. They are batting like England were a couple of years ago, no urgency in the middle 30 overs and a quick bash at the end. The frightening aspect of this series so far for Pakistan is that England's best ODI opening bowler David Willey has been out injured and Jonny Bairstow, England's best batsmen over the last 12 months can't even get in the team.

So how could England fit Willey in and how can they accommodate Bairstow in the ODI team. First of all Willey has to get Wood out of the team, which after his impressive bowling will be difficult, The task facing Bairstow may be even greater as there are only 4 specialist batsmen and the Buttler is so destructive as the wicketkeeper batsmen, As Root is so good and Morgan captains the team, Bairstow may have to wait for one of the openers to be injured or lose form.

With the addition of the resting Broad this gives England a 14 man ODI squad to rival any in the world.
