James Taylor - The Little Cricketer with a Big Heart
England batsman Taylor had to retire last month at the tender age of 26 due to a serious heart condition similar to that that almost killed footballer Fabrice Muamba.
Taylor had played 27 ODIs with an average of 42.23 and though the Nottinghamshire right hander had only played 7 Tests at an average of 26, he looked like the next batsmen to be given an extended run in the team.
At only 5'6" Taylor was the shortest International batsmen, though he used his height to his own advantage, playing back foot shots with ease and ensuring bowlers had less scope for error in length. He joked that his height meant that less could go wrong with his foot movement, Taylor has yet to decide what the future holds for him, but despite his diminutive stature, both Nottinghamshire and England have big holes left in their batting line ups.
